An urgent request for support

Dzierżoniowska Synagogue Rutika received from the City of Dzierżoniów funding in the amount of 50 000 zł (13000 $) for the overhaul of old tiled roof (tar on him has over 35 years). Since the total cost needed for the new roof is about 200 000 zł (50000 $). We turn to readers with a huge request for financial support (donation)to our foundation The Beiteinu Chaj – 2004 – www.synagogarutika.com ( Heb. Our house is lives).

It is a valuable monument of significant importance for the Jewish community and material culture of Lower Silesia. Therefore, any financial assistance will allow us to adequately deal with this unique object , which this year celebrates the 140th anniversary of its opening. The Foundation gladly will reward the donators honoring a person or institution the appropriate tab on the commemorative plaque inside the synagogue.

Unforgettable Jewish songs

A concert opening this year’s artistic season in Dzierżoniów’s Rutika synagogue took place on May 4.

The concert featured Kamila Kłos and the group Żwawi. 150 spectactors attended. The synagogue was filled with people, bustle – came alive. This is the goal of the Foundation Beiteinu Chaj, which takes care of the synagogue. Rafael and Dorin Blau want the building not being empty, only to host concerts, exhibitions, and other events.

koncert-300x177To Sunday’s concert came another, unannounced, but a very nice person – the chairman of the Social – Cultural Association of Jews in Poland Mr. Artur Hofman.

No one who came to the concert got disappointed. The audience listened to Jewish songs in three languages: Polish, Yiddish and Hebrew.
