For our Foundation and for our Synagogue this Jewish high holiday that begins at sunset September 18, 2009, and ends at nightfall September 20, 2009, is a memorable event for more than one reason.

The main entrance to the synagogue that has been bricked up for many years will be broken open before the holiday and the entrance restored with wooden doors, ready for the first religious service in more than thirty years.

It is symbolic that on this occasion there will be the first reunion in over forty years of about 50 Jews in their 50s and 60s who used to attend the prayer services in the synagogue as young people, before they were forced to leave Poland because of the oppression of the Communist regime of that time.

For those attending the reunion, a prayer service will held under the auspices of the Beiteinu Chaj-2004 Foundation with the belief in a better future world of understanding and tolerance between free, open-minded living in a democratic country.

This first prayer service in more than thirty years will be held in our synagogue on Rosh Hashanah in the evening of September 18, 2009.
